GRAHAM - Mr. Jacob Floyd Blalock Jr., 88, of 441 Cheeks Lane, Graham died at his residence on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 10:38 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 69 years to Mildred Brewer Blalock, who survives and the son of Jacob Floyd Blalock Sr. and Isabella Webster Blalock, both deceased. He was a fixer in the textile industry and loved wood working and tinkering with machinery. Jacob lived to attend auctions and was a member of the Senior Advantage Walkers.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include four daughters, Joyce Mize and husband Norman of Graham, Billie Evans and husband Wade of Rockwell, Cathy Ashley and husband Tommy of Snow Camp and Debbie Blalock and husband Freddy of Liberty; two sons, Timothy Blalock and wife Kathy of Graham and David Blalock and wife Linda of Snow Camp; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant baby Blalock; five brothers, Bernie, Richard, Bill, Bob and Lee Roy Blalock ; and two sisters, Margaret Newton and Mary Lou Stuart.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
