Mr. James Douglas "Jamie" "Cowboy" Michael

BURLINGTON - Mr. James "Jamie" "Cowboy" Douglas Michael, 49, died suddenly at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Monday, April 7, 2014, at 1:29 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 26 years to Laura Dixon Michael and the son of Jimmy and Linda Simmons Michael, all who survive .
Jamie was employed with Copland Fabrics. He was a member of Greater Love World Outreach and the Men of Steele of the church. He loved riding motorcycles and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, pawpaw, son and brother.
In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include a daughter, Heather Stewart and husband Scott of Burlington; son, Joshua Clay Michael of Pembroke, N.C.; two grandchildren, Alyssa Whitesell and Kay-Lee JoAnna Stewart; brother, David Lyn Michael and wife Anita; and faithful companion, Tricky.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy and Elizabeth Michael and Clarence and Marcelle Simmons.
The funeral service will be conducted at Greater Love World Outreach on Friday, April 11, 2014, at 2 p.m. by Pastor Ron Harris. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the home of David and Anita Michael, 2750 John Sutton Road, Elon, NC (off Osceola Road).
