James P. Majors

GRAHAM - James P. Majors, 64, passed away peacefully at his home on July 2, 2014 surrounded by his family.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Sheila Braxton Majors and the son of the late Oscar R. Majors, Sr. and Lucille George Majors.
For 30 years, he was co-owner of Majors & Majors Construction with his brother Oscar. James was an avid and competitive weekly Rook and Setback player. He enjoyed working on his farms and going to flea markets but the joy of his life was time spent with his grandbabies.
In addition to his wife of 35 years, James is survived by his son, Shawn, of the home; daughter April Majors Billings and her husband Mike; beloved grandchildren Hayden and Audrey. He was looking forward to meeting his newest grandchild, Lucy, due to join the family in August. He is also survived by brothers J.R. Majors (Jean) and Oscar Majors (Jane); nephews Darrell Majors (Janette) and Dalton Majors (Shelly); niece Linda Saunders (Bryan).
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday July 06, 2014 at McClure Funeral Home in Graham NC and other times at the residence. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday July 07, 2014 at Harvest Hills Church of God in Burlington NC with the Rev. Wayne Rouse officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Duke Lung Transplant program as well as Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, with a special thank you to Hospice nurse, Phoebe.
