James Wallace Talley

PROSPECT HILL - James Wallace Talley, 72, of 708 Ridgeville Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.
Born in Caswell County, Mr. Talley was the son of the late Ralph Burch and Lucy Painter Talley and husband of the late Patricia Irby Talley. Mr. Talley retired from Blanche Prison and was of the Baptist faith.
He retired from the Prospect Hill Volunteer Fire Department after 20 years of service. An avid hunter and NASCAR fan, he also loved western movies and gospel and bluegrass music.
Mr. Talley is survived by his son, Jamie Douglas Talley, of Prospect Hill; and his sister, Naomi Talley Catlett, of Prospect Hill.
Mr. Talley was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Talmadge Talley.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Lea Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Calvin Sacra. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Catlett, Gary Catlett, Michael Talley, Jackie Irby, Jimmy Irby, and Ronnie Lunsford. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Catlett, Hugh Nelson, Daniel Talley, Patrick Talley, and Matthew Langone.
