McLEANSVILLE - Keith Clonnie Alexander, 79, beloved grandfather (Popaw) to Jason, Joshua, Kara, Brayden, Alex, Carson, Gracie, Spencer, Clarissa, Collin, and great-grandfather to Will, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Wesley Long Hospital, Palliative Care Unit. Keith never met a stranger, loved people and was easy to love in return. He was the most kind-spirited person and his beautiful smile will be missed by his family and friends.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2012 at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home North Elm Chapel, with brother-in-law, the Rev. Larry Cox, and Pastor Edward Allred, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and there will be refreshments. A private burial will be held prior to the service at Westminster Gardens Cemetery.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jewell Alexander: children, Kimberly Isaac and her husband Brad of Greensboro, Michael Alexander and his wife, Chris of Okemos, Michigan; stepsons, John Foster and Jeff Foster of Greensboro and James Foster of Florida, and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters–in–law, and brothers–in–law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Texie and Snow Alexander, and two brothers, Donald and Harold Alexander.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Keith had many loves, first and foremost his family. His children loved his stories about his growing up, and the bugger stories his Pa Richardson told. He was an avid gardener and fisherman, loved traveling, camping always with children and grandchildren, boating, water skiing, and golfing. He loved his home in Florida in the winter months, where he could fish and catch big mouth bass and golf in warm weather. He loved to pick oranges, eat out and play cards with his many friends in Florida.
The family would like to express their thanks, especially to Dr. Ravi Avva, for his time, calling on weekends and addressing our concerns; everyone should have a Dr. Avva for their family physician; to Heather, his nurse, and also Cone Health Cancer Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro at 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
