BURLINGTON - Kemp "Kenny" McKinley Loy Jr., 63, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, at his home.
He was born in Alamance County and was the son of the late Kemp M. Loy Sr. and Norma Mitchell Loy, who survives.
Kenny was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. He loved camping, the outdoors and music, including singing, playing and writing songs. Kenny also truly enjoyed helping others, always willing to put others before himself.
He is survived by his son, Paul (Bobbie) Loy of Boiling Spring Lakes; grandchildren, Jason William Loy and Abigail Marie Loy; sisters, Karen (Bob) Bullard of Burlington, Susan Loy of Little River and Lisa (Dickie) Wright of Siler City; and his faithful canine companion and sidekick, "Mr. Dillon."
The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Friendship United Methodist Church by the Rev. Henry Swanzey and the Rev. Al Horne with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the church and at other times at his mother's home.
