BURLINGTON - Lorene "Lo" Phillips, 90, of Burlington, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of the Leaksville and Spray communities, now known as Eden, Mrs. Phillips was the wife of the late Cleo B. Phillips and the daughter of the late Luther M. Weadon and the late Daisy Jones Weadon.
She was co-owner of Phillips Hosiery Mill and worked at Woolworth's in Holly Hill Mall, where she was voted Holly Hill Mall Employee of the Year in 1986. She was also a cafeteria worker at Eastlawn Elementary School.
Mrs. Phillips was a very active member of Glen Hope Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and a Sunday school teacher.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by three children; Linda Currin and her husband, Tommy Sr., of Mebane, Jo Bradner and her husband, Phillip, of Burlington, and Dawn Jeffries and her husband, Tony, of Burlington; six grandchildren, Tommy Currin Jr., Kim Horner, Scottie Jeffries and his wife, Sherry, Nichol Neal and her husband, Larry, Clinton Bradner, Candice Campbell and her husband, Robby; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by six nephews and two nieces.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
A service will be held in the mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Larry Redding.
