Mrs. Mae Shanklin Scott

CHAPEL HILL - Mrs. Mae Shanklin Scott, 97, formerly of Graham, died at Chapel Hill Rehabilitation on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at 1:30 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Percy Scott and the daughter of Will Shanklin and Annie Smith Shanklin, both deceased. She retired from Brown-Wooten and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington since 1946.
Survivors include a daughter, Joanne Andrews and husband Berry of Chapel Hill; two sons, William K. "Bill" Scott and wife Donna of Durham and Thomas D. "Danny" Scott and wife Lacy of Haw River; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Hinshaw Portis and Mozelle Hoggard; and a brother, Arthur Shanklin.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. by Dr. Terry Peele, with the family receiving friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Burial will be held at Alamance Memorial Park on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at 1 p.m.
