Marion Virginia Davis, 91, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Stuarts Draft Christian Home, Stuarts Draft, Va.
She was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Bealton, Virginia, a daughter of William Price and Nellie Irene Copenhaver McSpadden.
Marion retired as Postmaster of the Lyndhurst, Va., Post Office. She was a member of Mt. Venon Church of the Brethren, Shenandoah Quilters Guild, Waynesboro Quilters, and Augusta County Home Demonstration Club.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters Mary Frances McSpadden, Carrie Mae Warren, Margaret McNemar, and Katherine Lorraine; brothers James Henry and John William McSpadden.
Surviving are her husband, Chester L. Davis of Stuarts Draft; children and their spouses, Carolyn and Edward Christmas of Graham, N.C., Sharron Kay and Edwin Taylor of Richmond, and James "J.R." and Patricia Copper of Bridgewater; sister Ellen Balsley and special friend Hartman "Dub" Beynon; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at the Mt. Vernon Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Stuarts Draft, by Rev. Randy Simmons and Rev. Randy McSpadden.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McDow Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Va.
