Mrs. Mary Torain Day

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Mary Torain Day, 73, of 722 Grover Lane, died May 5, 2013 at ARMC.
She was the daughter of Mr. Howard Torain and Mrs. Jenny Rogers Torain, both deceased. Mrs. Day was a member of New Covenant Holy Church where she was an Usher and was a retired presser with Rental Uniform.
Survivors include two sons, Clint Day (Cynthia) of Greensboro, N.C. and Jonathan Day of Burlington; three daughters, Lora Day Harvey (Timothy) of Burlington, Donna Day of the home and Denise Day Mitchell (Sherman) of Walterboro, S.C.; six grandchildren, Shernise Mitchell, Trenton Harvey, Tristian Harvey, Eric Day, Antinia Day and Zuri Watlington; a sister, Naomi B. Miles (Malcom) of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Willie Torain, Mae Emma Torain and Nancy Elizabeth Torain.
Public viewing will be held Wednesday, May 8 at Sharpe Funeral Home from 1 to 9 p.m.
The funeral will be held Thursday, May 9 at 1 p.m. at Sharpe Memorial Chapel. The family will receive visitors 30 minutes prior to the services at the funeral home and at other times, at the home. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
