Mrs. Joyce Aiken Bradshaw

CHAPEL HILL - Mrs. Joyce Aiken Bradshaw, 69, of 7214 Morrow Mill Road, died Friday, November 22, 2013, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill following an eleven year courageous battle with cancer.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Jimmy Bradshaw, who survives of the home, and daughter of the late Guy and Ethel Russell Aiken. Mrs. Bradshaw was retired from the UNC School Department of Microbiology and was a member of Clover Garden United Methodist Church.
Surviving, other than her husband, are a daughter, Kathy Stewart and husband Kenny of Chapel Hill; two grandchildren, Jonathan Stewart and Kimberly Stewart, both of Chapel Hill; two sisters, Helen Thompson of Graham and Nancy Camden of Charlotte; one brother, Jim Aiken of Haw River; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Eula Reece, Gloria Pugh, and Geneva Collins; and two brothers, John Aiken and Paul Aiken.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 25 at Orange Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sang Park and the Rev. Bob Eldridge. Burial will follow at Clover Garden United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home & Crematory in Graham from 5-7 PM, Sunday evening and other times at the residence.
Flowers will be accepted and memorials may be made to the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Research Center, 450 West Drive, CB 7295, Chapel Hill, NC 27599.
