GRAHAM - Mrs. Mary Carol Ivey Coleman, 82, passed peacefully Thursday, Feb.7, 2013, at the Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Mary was born in Alamance County. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Graham, was very active in the Rebekah Class and was a member of the Out Our Way Garden Club. She was very active in the Ladies Division of the Chamber of Commerce. Mary retired from the Burlington Times-News with 45 years of service.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Gwen and Billy Sharpe of Gibsonville; grandchildren Scott Walker, Brad Sharpe and Kristen Sharpe; great-grandson Jace Walker; son-in-law David Payne, of Haw River; stepgrandchild Jason Payne and wife, Crystal; two step-great-grandchildren, Taryn Payne and Tyler Payne; and sister-in-law Betsy Ivey.
She was preceded in death by husband Ralph Wilbert Coleman; parents Eddie Loy Ivey Sr. and Sallie Thompson Ivey; daughter Janice Coleman Payne; sister Colleen Ivey Foust; and brother Eddie Loy "Buddy" Ivey Jr.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Graham.
The service will be led by the Revs. Jim Wall and Chris Phelps.
Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.
