RICHFIELD, Minn. - Mr. Ono Hubert "O.H." Perry, 94, of Richfield, Minn., and formerly of Alamance County, N.C., passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at United Methodist Church of Peace, Richfield, Minn., with the Rev. Gerry Vuchetich and the Rev. Andy Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn.
Mr. Perry was a native of Alamance County and the son of the late Richard Leroy and Suda Andrews Perry. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 66 years, Eleanor Rose Sterzbach Perry; one son, Richard Loyd Perry; three brothers, Bernard, Dwight and Hilton Perry; and one sister, Ophelia Teague.
O.H. was a cook in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his discharge, he was employed at the Mayfair Cafeteria in Greensboro, N.C. In 1953, when he and his family moved to Minneapolis, he became a coffee shop manager at the Curtis Hotel in downtown Minneapolis and later at the Radisson South Hotel in Bloomington until his retirement. Upon retiring, he did some catering for a time.
O.H. is survived by sisters, Norma Lee Wood, Dura Dark and Erma Paschal all of Burlington; and a sister-in-law, Mary Sterzbach of Barron, Wisconsin.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
