Mrs. Patsy Teer Davis

MEBANE - Mrs. Patsy Teer Davis died on Jan. 14, her 81st birthday, at Hospice Home as a result of complications from multiple sclerosis. She lived bravely with this disease for 40 years.
She was the daughter of Mr. William Walter Teer and Mrs. Virgin Ray Teer, both deceased. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Clifton Davis.
Survivors are daughter, Beth Davis Foust (Fred) and her son Paul Clifton Davis Jr. (Kara); brothers, William Walter Teer Jr. (Anne) and Seymour Eugene (Tim) Teer (Judy); sister-in-law, Nellie Cheek Davis Cheshire; grandchildren, Molly Teer Foust, MaryKate Fisher Foust, Cade Alexander Davis, Grant O'Brien Davis, Kenneth Paul Davis; and 13 nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Hillsborough High School, Patsy earned a BS degree in Home Economics from Flora MacDonald College in Red Springs, N.C. In 1954 she moved to Mebane to teach home economics at Mebane High School and live at the teacherage with her fellow teachers. She had many fond memories of this time and made lifelong friendships. In 1955 she married her high school sweetheart, Paul, and remained his love and best friend until his death in 2000.
Patsy was an active member of Mebane Presbyterian church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, Circle moderator and Bible teacher. During her active years, any church decorating or events were usually instigated by her. She served as President of the Women of the Church for two terms and was awarded the Presbyterian Woman's Honorary Life Membership award in 1987.
The funeral service will be conducted at Mebane Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16 by the Rev. Jeff Smith. The family will visit friends following the service in the McSween Hall at the church and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Foust.
