Mr. Robert Alexander Butcher

BURLINGTON - Mr. Robert Alexander Butcher, 66, of 1615 Morningside Drive, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the Hospice Home in Burlington. He was a resident of Burlington for over 50 years.
Born March 6, 1947 in Tazewell County, Va., he was the husband of the late Carolyn Butcher and the son of Alexander Butcher and Mary Frances Wingo Butcher, both deceased.
He was owner and operator of Robert's Transmissions on Hanover Road, Graham, N.C. He loved fishing and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a brother, James Paul (Doris) Butcher of Efland; four sisters, Mrs. Edsel (Alice) Miller of Powhatan, Va., Mrs. Alan B. (Betty) Hess, Mrs. Travis (Ann) Absher and Mrs. Bill (Brenda) Richardson, all of Raven, Va.; several nieces and nephews; neighbor, friend and caregiver, Georgia Poole; and friends, Howard, Cindy, Josh and Edgar.
A memorial service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 6 p.m., with the family receiving friends following the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Alamance Regional Medical Center and the caring angels at the Hospice Home.
