GREEN LEVEL- Mrs. Shirley Hayes Brown, 72, of 1459 Dixon Lane passed away on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
She was the daughter of Roy Hayes and Callie Currie Hayes, both deceased, and the wife of Van Hall Brown, who survives.
Shirley worked in Skilled Nursing. Her two favorite passions were cooking and fishing. She had a huge heart which was filled with love for her family and friends.
In addition to her husband of the home she is survived by three sons, Ricky Brown, Christopher Brown (Lisa Breeze), and Van Brown Jr., all of Burlington; daughter, Annette Wiley (Harry); two brothers, Clarence Hayes (Francine) and Gene Autry Hayes; two sisters, Nancy Wyatt (Charlie) and Audrey Hayes; three grandchildren, Jessica Wiley and Monica Wiley, both of Burlington, and Mario Brown of Greensboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted Friday, April 19, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Green Level Christian Church, with Pastor Coslow Holt officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the funeral service at the church and at all other times at 1501 Dixon Lane, Burlington. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery.
The public viewing will be Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 1 to 8 p.m. at Alamance Funeral Service.
