Stasia Miles Ennis

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Stasia Miles Ennis, 83, of Burlington, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at 4:55 p.m.
Stasia was a graduate of Burlington High School in 1945 and Montreat College in 1947. Employed by Kernodle Clinic in her early career, she later was employed as a paralegal for Latham, Pickard, Cooper, Wood and Ennis Law Firm. Following this, she served as the Manager of Holly Hill Mall. From there, she was a paralegal for her husband, the late Spencer B. Ennis. Upon his appointment as a district court judge, Mrs. Ennis became the administrative assistant to the President of Bankers and Shippers Insurance Company.
A former member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church, she served as a Sunday School teacher, Youth Director, and Circle Chairman. Later, she joined her husband as a member of First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church where she also served as a Sunday School teacher.
Mrs. Ennis was active in The Democratic Party and served for many years as a precinct judge.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Oscar and Ruby Miles; and a grandson, Christopher Giles.
Survivors include her son, Hugh Gregory Coble of Burlington; daughters, Mrs. Kim Giles (Doug) and Mrs. Susan Summers (Cliff), both of Cary, N.C.; sisters, Mrs. Rebekah Johnston (Ben) of Graham, N.C. and Mrs. Barbara Temple of Valdese, N.C.; and sisters-in-law, Mrs. Frances Ennis and Mrs. Miriam Rozemen Ennis. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Andrew and Alex Giles of Cary, N.C. and Rachael and Jackson Coble of Burlington, N.C.; her special friend, Bernice Sellars; as well as her beloved dog, Ginger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at 2 p.m. with the receiving of friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 would be appreciated.
