Mr. Theodore Warren "Ted" Isley

BURLINGTON - Mr. Theodore Warren "Ted" Isley of Burlington died suddenly at his residence on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at 9:51 a.m.
A native of Burlington, N.C., he was the husband of Janet Durham Isley, who survives of the home, and son of the late J. Curry Isley and Alma Hart Isley. He was retired from Lucent Technologies as an Accounting Manager. Mr. Isley was a lifelong active member of Davis Street United Methodist Church and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was in the first graduating class of Williams High School, a graduate of Elon College, a Bronze Life Master Bridge Player and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. He and his wife were avid world travelers, who circled the globe four times. They were Five Star Mariners.
Mr. Isley was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his three children, Cindy I. Price and husband Keith, Vicky I. Crowder and husband Kevin, all of Burlington and David Warren Isley and wife April of Wilmington; six grandchildren, Jenna E. Price, Matt K. Price, Lauren C. Sykes and fiancé A. J. Dillon, Alyson C. Surles and husband Joey, Nicholas W. Isley and Hannah B. Isley; and three great-grandchildren, Jackson Sykes, Hadleigh Surles and Averleigh Surles.
Ted was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Wendell Isley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, at Davis Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ellen M. McCubbin officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral & Cremation Service in Burlington from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening and other times at the residence.
