Thomas Clifton “Cliff” Kimber Sr.

BURLINGTON - Mr. Thomas Clifton "Cliff" Kimber Sr., 87, of 2437 Willie Pace Road, died March 21 at his residence.
He is survived by his devoted wife of the home, Mrs. Doris Boswell Kimber, and was the son of Mr. George Kimber and Mrs. Maude Chambers Kimber, both deceased.
Survivors include a son, Dale Lee Kimber, of the home; two brothers, G. Henry Kimber (Dora) and Marvin "Bill" Kimber (Evie), both of Burlington; a sister, Mildred Ann Shaw of Burlington; two grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Kimber and Brandon Kimber; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Kimber was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Clifton Kimber Jr.; two brothers, Russell and Clarence Kimber; three sisters, Frances Dillard, Millie Jerrine Bigelow and Margaret Thaxton.
Cliff was a member of Sweet Gum Grove Missionary Baptist Church, a Navy Veteran and a retiree of Burlington Industries.
The funeral service will be held Monday, March 25 at 2 p.m. at Sweet Gum. Visitation will be Monday from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the church. Public viewing will be Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m. at Sharpe Funeral Home, and at other times the family will be at the home.
Burial will be at the church cemetery.
