BURLINGTON - Bill, 69, of Burlington, NC, passed away July 12, 2014, after a four year battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Bill was born in Salisbury, NC on March 9, 1945. He graduated from Boyden High School and continued on to graduate from Wingate University and then attend Western Carolina University where he saw his future in a brown eyed girl from Math class.
Bill was married to Kaye Brown Adams on June 7, 1970. On their most recent anniversary, he looked at his sweetheart of 44 years and said, "Aren't we lucky?"
Bill worked as Vice President of Sales at PCA International for 34 years. He enjoyed playing golf, throwing frisbee, fishing and watching the Carolina Tarheels. Later in his career he was store manager for REA, a company best known for its slogan, "People, helping people, help people."
Bill is survived by his wife, Kaye and three daughters, Nichole Tervelt, Liz Adams and Ashley Adams. Special thanks go to son-in-law Paul Tervelt for his endless effort and support. Five grandchildren will also remember his legacy: Chase Tervelt, Austin Tervelt, Caroline Church, Jacob Church and Logan Church.
Bill is preceded in death by his father William Adams, mother Pauline Adams and sister Jane Adams.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., July 16th at Rich & Thompson of Burlington. The Rev. Mike Mitchener of Westside Fellowship will be officiating. Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on July 15th also at Rich & Thompson. Burial will follow the funeral at Pine Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Hospice of Alamance.
