BURLINGTON - Mr. Bobby Perry Corbett left to be with the Lord on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Hospice Home in Burlington.

Bobby was born to the late Hassell and Bertha Perry Corbett.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Evans Corbett, of the home; sons, Zane Evans Corbett (Diane) of Mebane, Jarad Scott Corbett (Kerrie) of Burlington; granddaughters, Ceara Elizabeth Corbett, Emma Lucille Corbett and Madalyn Rose Corbett. He is also survived by his faithful Yorkie, "Ellie."
Other survivors include sister, Peggy Thompson (Percy); brothers, Billy (Dorothy), Hassell Jr. (Becky) and Al (Lynnette); sisters-in-law, Carol Steele (David) and Mary Pat Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Corbett was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Scott.
Mr. Corbett was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam era. He retired from Copland Fabrics as Maintenance Manager after 52 years of service. He also retired from Pleasant Grove Fire Department after 20 years of service as a Firefighter and EMT.
He was a lifelong member of Union Ridge Church, where he was a member of the Seekers Sunday School class, the Men's Fellowship and served many years as an usher. He was very active in helping with the Church's Food Pantry.
Bobby was known for his very distinctive voice; he never met a stranger and was loved by many friends.
He enjoyed traveling to his summer place in Beaufort, loved to fish and spending time with his family.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Union Ridge Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dan Ficklin and the Rev. Jim Rosser.
The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service in the Church Fellowship Hall. At other times the family will be at the residence of the late Bertha Corbett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Union Ridge Church Activity Center or Food Pantry, 115 Altamahaw Union Ridge Road, Burlington, NC 27217 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
