BURLINGTON - Mr. Calvin Coolidge Jessup, 87, a man of deep faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, passed at 4:45 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 at his home at 1622 Deep Creek Church Road.

Born in Randolph County, N.C., Mr. Jessup was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a former volunteer fireman with Faucette Fire Department and a retired supervisor at Tower Hosiery.
He is survived by brothers, Leon Jessup and Thurman Jessup; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hortense Jones Jessup; daughter, Frankie Jeffries; parents, Joel and Sally Collins Jessup; sisters, Irene Moffitt and Alice Hayes; and brothers, Arlee Jessup, Raymond Jessup and Vernon Jessup.
The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham on Monday, May 13, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. and at other times at the residence.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Deep Creek Baptist Church, Burlington, N.C., by the Rev. James Moon, the Rev. Curtis Oakley and the Rev. Tony Jessup. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family would like to gracefully thank the Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell and the doctors and medical staff at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Durham, N.C. for all the loving care and compassion given to Mr. Jessup and his family.
