MEBANE - Mrs. Judith Jefferds Werner, 82, of 3441 Parker Farm Road, Mebane, died at her residence on Monday, November 4, 2013, at 6:20 p.m. following 18 months of illness.

Born May 15, 1931, she was the wife of the late Robert Paul Werner. She graduated with a teaching degree from Michigan State University and later retired from West Point Stevens Outlet. Judith was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of the Presbyterian Players in South Bend, Indiana.
Survivors include four sons, Richard D. Werner and wife Wendy of Houston, TX, Timothy P. Werner and wife Beverly of Mebane, Terry P. Werner of Phoenix, AZ and Jeffery E. Werner and wife Cheryl of Haw River; daughter, Joan W. Martin of Mebane; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a special friend, her dog Cappy.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert W. Werner and sister, Betty Spangenberg.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Thursday, November 7, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. Other times they will be at the home of Tim Werner, 1009 North Carr Street, Mebane, NC.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Lorain, Ohio.
