BURLINGTON - Mr. Ralph "Elmo" Faulkner, 89, of Burlington went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at 3:45 p.m. while at Edgewood Place.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Laura Christopher Faulkner and the son of Willie George Faulkner and Roxie Long Faulkner, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, serving during World War II and a recipient of two Purple Hearts. Elmo was a brick mason and farmer. He was a member of Powerline Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Faulkner Oliver of Burlington; two sons, Ralph Elmo Faulkner Jr. and wife Jane of Burlington and Rickey E. Faulkner and wife Susan of Graham; sister, Yvonne Lassiter of Graham; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Carey, Violet Albright and Ava Paylor; five brothers, Lawrence, H. W., Dace, Earl and Donald Faulkner; and son-in-law, Forrest Oliver.
The funeral service will be conducted at Lamb's Chapel on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Brian Biggers and the Rev. Bob Cauthren. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence of the daughter, Kathryn Oliver, 2321 Sandy Cross Road, Burlington, N.C.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Edgewood Place for their loving care and support given to Elmo.
