BURLINGTON - Mr. Raymond Edward "Ray" McAdams, 67, of 18 Sherry Drive, died at Veterans Administration Hospital in Durham on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at 1:40 AM.

A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Calvin T. McAdams and Cawana Turner Montgomery, who survives. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, serving from the late 1960s until the early 1970s. He was a member of Davis Street Methodist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Don McAdams and wife, Dr. Ahna Chu, of Bethlehem, Pa.; a brother, William "Rick" Montgomery III of Cornelius, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Miranda and Lucienne of Bethlehem, Pa.
A funeral service will be held at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at 2:00 PM by the Rev. Ellen McCubbin. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington. At other times the family will be at the residence of his mother, 313 Trail Three, Burlington, NC.
