BURLINGTON - Mrs. Veda Grey Whittlesey, 88, of 1880 Brookwood Ave., Burlington, passed away at The Village at Brookwood on Tuesday, March 24, 2014.

A native of Ventura County, Calif., Mrs. Whittlesey was the wife of Curtis Whittlesey and daughter of the late Frederick and Joella Grey. She has been a retired elementary school teacher and a devoted servant with Christ Covenant Church in Greensboro.
She is survived by her devoted husband of the home and three sons, Mark Austin Whittlesey and wife Jackie, Grant Curtis Whittlesey and wife Carolyn and Paul Vince Whittlesey and wife René; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, April 5, at St. Mark's Church Sanctuary with the Rev. Ben Bishop and the Rev. David Longobaro officiating. The family will greet friends after the service with a reception in the Atrium.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
