BURLINGTON - Mr. William Franklin "Billy" Johnson, 81, of 412 Tarleton Avenue, Burlington, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at 3:03 p.m.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Greta Jones Johnson, who survives, and the son of Guy Johnson and Ossie Hanford Johnson, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Korean Conflict. Billy retired from Glen Raven Mills and was owner and operator of Johnson Awning Company. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Graham.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a daughter, Laura Johnson Lougee and husband Jonathan of West Palm Beach, Fla.; son, Guy Johnson of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; four grandchildren, Megan Lougee, Adam Lougee, Matthew Johnson and Stuart Johnson; great-grandson, Jonathan Lougee; two sisters, Helen Clark of Burlington and Barbara Hunt of Asheboro; brother, Jim Johnson of Claremont, N.C.; and uncle, Tom Hanford of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lou Johnson; and brother, Jack Johnson.
The funeral service will be conducted at the First United Methodist Church of Graham on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Kevin Baker, with the family receiving friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery with military honors. At other times the family will be at the residence.
