KERNERSVILLE - Addie Dean McKaughan, 92, went home to be with her Lord Dec. 28, 2012.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at Main Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Dr. Jeff Patterson and Rev. Rick Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Guilford County, Addie was the daughter of the late Hattie Elizabeth Bull and Robah Franklin Dean. She was married to the late David Lee McKaughan. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church since 1949. She was a member of Circle #3 where she sent occasion cards to members of the church. She helped with the Care network, a ministry of the church assisting the homebound.
In addition to her husband and parents, she also was preceded in death by her sisters Cleo Neal, Verlee Lowe, Avahleen Cain, and Elizabeth Dean, and her brother Waldo Dean.
Survivors include her daughters Elizabeth Stewart and Ronnie of Sedge Garden, and Linda Shanks and James H. of Elon; grandchildren James Shanks, Karen Bass, and Doug Shanks; great-grandchildren Sarah, Samantha, Jessica, Jennifer, and Lauren; five great-great grandchildren Bryson, Kendall, Junior, Shawn, and Emma; brothers Bernard Dean, Willard Dean, and Bobby Dean.
The family will visit with friends in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the service on Sunday.
