GRAHAM - Mrs. Adelle Stout Swaney, 79, of Graham died at the Hospice Home on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at 6:45 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Clyde Winship Swaney and the daughter of Hampton Stout and Nanny Rickman Stout, both deceased. She was the operator of a daycare for over 30 years and attended Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Christine Fine and husband Paul of Graham and Linda Coggins of Mebane; a son, Billy J. Swaney of Graham; a daughter-in-law, Lori Swaney of Graham; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Steve Stout and wife Carolyn of Burlington and Marvin Stout and wife Susan of Graham; two sisters, Elaine Strickland and husband Danny of Graham and Sue Williams of Mebane; and a special cousin, Peggy Jean Faucette of Mebane.
She was preceded in death by a son, Tony Swaney; a brother, John Stout; and three sisters, Malissa Strickland, Larena Thompson and Bonnie Walker.
The funeral service will be conducted at Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Jimmy Wooten. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service to lie in state.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
