On August 22, 2013, Heaven became a little sweeter as Andrew Soboslay went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ. Waiting for him with open arms were his loving wife Priscilla and his many family and friends who went on before him.
Andrew was born in Paterson, N.J. on Jan. 7,1920. He was the son of Andrew and Elizabeth Soboslay and was raised with his 16 sisters and 1 brother.
Andrew was a retired machinist and volunteered for Hospice of Alamance/Caswell since 1996. Andrew was a kind, gentle, giving and loving man with a wonderful sense of humor. He will be truly missed so much by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are his daughter, Diane and son-in-law Brien Carrigan; his grandson, Matthew Tanis and his wife Lee Ann; great-granddaughters, Emily and Carly Tanis; also, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive family and friends at the home of Brien and Diane Carrigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are asked to be donated to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance/Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
Our heartfelt thank you and appreciation to all the staff at Hospice who cared for Andrew with so much love, comfort and dignity.
