BURLINGTON - Anita Gwynn Hogan, 49, of Glen Oaks Road, received her wings after a 25-year battle with diabetes and an 18-month battle with cancer, on Friday morning, Nov. 9, 2012 in her home with family and friends.
Anita was born on August 7, 1963 in Rockingham County and was a native of Caswell County. She graduated from Bartlett Yancey High School in 1981. She was a member of Kerr's Chapel Baptist Church, a former textile employee and a homemaker. Anita was the wife of Richard "Hogie" Hogan and the daughter of Johnny and Mildred Kernodle Gwynn.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her parents of Caswell County; her daughter, Crystal Hogan of the United States Navy; a stepson, Bryant Hogan and his wife Regina of Wilmington; a sister Sandra King of Elon; brothers, Terry Gwynn and his wife Joyce of Caswell County, John Gwynn and his wife Jennifer aka "The Warden" of Yanceyville and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Anita was a kind-hearted and giving person. Words could never describe the way that she has touched everyone she has ever come into contact with. She had the most infectious smile that would brighten anyone's day.
