Anne H. Fortner, age 83, of Gainesville, Fla., passed away at Shands at the University of Florida, Tuesday, March 5, 2013. She was born March 26, 1929 in Galveston, Texas to William A. and Louise Wilkens Hyde. Anne was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. She worked as a real estate paralegal. She was a former resident of Burlington, N.C. and of Charleston, S.C.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. (Pete) Fortner III.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Fortner Sutton of San Francisco, Calif.; sons, Thomas H. Fortner (Laurilyn) of Jackson, Miss., and Scott W. Fortner (Lisa) of Alachua, Fla.; sister Nancy Stalnaker of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three grandchildren, James, Paul and Frances Anne and three great-grandchildren, Dalton, Kara and Parker.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. at The Atrium, 2431 NW 41st St., Gainesville with the Rev. Louanne Loch as Celebrant.
