BLANCH, N.C. - Mr. Aundraé Charles Barrett, 55, of 1497 Stephentown Road, died Dec. 9, 2012 at Duke University Hospital.

He was the husband of Mrs. Sherril Bigelow Barrett of the home and son of Mr. Charles Barrett and Mrs. Ruth Dimmock Barrett, both deceased. He was employed as a Respiratory Therapist at Duke, UNC, Durham Regional, Catawba Memorial, Wake Medical Center and worked at LINPAC in Greensboro. He was a member of High Rock Baptist Church where he served as an usher and in the Brothers of Christ. He loved weightlifting, listening to jazz, liked working with youth, helping and giving to people. He also loved attending Bible Study and enjoyed going to the beach.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include daughters, LaToya Smith of Jacksonville, Fla. and Kayla Barrett of the home; a goddaughter, Tameiya Holloway (James) of Yanceyville; brother, Harvey Gilbert (Deitra) of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Sabrina Barrett of Southern Pines, N.C. and Marcia Barrett of Henderson, N.C.; grandchildren, JaVaughn Smith and Jordan Benson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 1 to 8 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel of Blackwell Funeral Home in Burlington.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 13, one hour prior to the service at the church. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. at High Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Henry Long delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in High Rock Baptist Church cemetery. At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence.
Services are entrusted to Blackwell Funeral Home.
