GRAHAM - Mrs. Barbara Jean James Johnson, 63, of 5119 Swepsonville-Saxapahaw Road, Graham, N.C., passed peacefully at 4:43 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2012 at Moses H. Cone Hospital, in Greensboro, N.C. after four weeks critical illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was a former Veterans Administration employee and a member of the Open Bible Baptist church where she was in charge of the church food pantry.
Survivors include her husband, Charles "Chuck" M. Johnson, of the home; daughter, Jamie Smith and husband Mike of Hope Mills, N.C.; grandchildren, Graeme, Colin, Olivia and Nathan; sister, Gloria Van Savage of Mebane, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her son, Allen Ray Hannah II; and parents, Louis Henry James and Cora Edna Graves James.
The funeral will be conducted in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2012 by the Rev. Steve Pruitt. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m., prior to the service, and at other times at the residence.
Committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2012 in the Haw River Cemetery.
