ELON - Mrs. Betty Pendergrass Fogleman, 79, of 1288 Westbrook Ave., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at her home.
Born in Orange County, she was daughter of the late James Melvin Pendergrass and the late Ruth White Pendergrass and was married to the late Lawrence Eugene "Buddy" Fogleman Jr., who died in 1980.
She retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of Westside Fellowship, where she was in the Women's Bible Study. Betty loved singing and would often sing karaoke. She was an avid knitter and baker and was known for her "World Renowned" Italian Crème cake, which was sold for $500.00 at a church fundraiser for missions.
Mrs. Fogleman is survived by her daughter, Lynne F. Patterson and husband Eric C., of Elon; two sons, Michael S. Fogleman of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Neil Sykes and wife Bonnie, of Stafford, Va.; granddaughter, Rebekkah Lynne Woods; sisters-in-law, Frances T. Pendergrass of Carrboro and Jean F. Lowe of Elon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Hazel P. Sykes and Sharon P. Asbill; two brothers, Robert E. and Haywood M. Pendergrass; and her longtime companion, John Lamphear.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Westside Fellowship by the Rev. Mike Mitchener. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 Saturday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westside Fellowship, c/o the Missions Fund, P.O. Box 455, Elon, NC 27244.

I am so very sorry so have seen that your mother had passed. I only met her a few times at the Buffalo Wild Wings and thought she was such a pleasure to talk to. May happy memories of your mother, mother-n-law & grandmother always be a comfort to you for years to come.
