BURLINGTON - Mr. Bobby Joe "Joe" Bridges Sr., 70, of N.C. 49 South, Burlington died at the V.A. Hospital in Durham on Thursday, August 9, 2012.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Rollie James Bridges and Fannie Boswell Bridges, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include his daughter, Tina Bible and husband Frank of Burlington; a son, Bobby Bridges Jr. and wife Laura of Snow Camp; three grandchildren, Amy Jo Lilly, Cameron Bridges and Scotty Bridges; and one great-grandson, Jayden.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Glenda Brooks and Becky Orander and one brother, Frank Leland Bridges.
The family will receive friends at the Old Sharkey's Grill, 203 South Anthony Street, Burlington, N.C. on Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. A private memorial service will be held at Nags Head at a later date.
Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham is in charge of arrangements.
