DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Bobby Riley Hensley, 84, passed away Nov. 13, 2013, in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Bobby was born Dec. 22, 1928 in Burlington, N.C. to the late H.D. and Cora Hensley. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1947, served during the Korean Conflict for two years and then graduated from Elon College in 1955. Bobby worked at Bellcore for 45 years, retired in 1993, then moved to Daytona Beach. He was a member of the Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church. Bobby enjoyed walking on the beach, sports and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Hensley and Vestal Hensley; and a sister, Anna Louise Barker.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Suzanne Hensley, Marianne (Rick) Floyd, Annette Morrow, Lisa Hensley, Jim (Susan) Hensley and Rosanne Prasuhn; twin brother, Billy (Judy) Hensley; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington. Visitation will be held 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
