GRAHAM - Mr. Boyd Cooper, 80, of 868 Sunset Drive, died at his residence on Friday, April 27, 2012.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Nancy Ray Cooper, and the son of Alson Gray "Doc" Cooper Sr. and Bessie Thompson Cooper, both deceased. He retired with 55 years of service from Burlington Industries. Mr. Cooper was a member of Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church and a member of the Graham High School Boosters Club for more than 30 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Cooper Harris and husband Roger of Burlington and Karen Cooper Phillips of Las Vegas, Nev.; and three grandchildren, Ashley Boggs, Cooper Fuqua and Hannah Phillips.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Pauline Cooper, Margaret Wood, Hazel Boger and Flora Allen; and three brothers, A.G. Cooper, Elwood Cooper and James Louis Cooper.
The funeral service will be conducted at Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at 4 p.m. by the Rev. Jimmy Wooten, with the family receiving friends from 3 to 4 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Other times, the family will be at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church, 4683 Cedar Cliff Road, Graham, NC 27253.
