Cabbell Lindsey Moorefield, 93, of 8005 S. NC 49, Snow Camp, died Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health.

A native of Person County, Mr. Moorefield was the husband of the late Catherine Bernice Ward Moorefield and the son of the late Cabbell Jeff Moorefield and the late Bessie Lloyd Moorefield.
Mr. Moorefield was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Army. He retired from Burlington Industries. Mr. Moorefield enjoyed gardening and music and enjoyed playing string instruments.
Mr. Moorefield is survived by his brother, Bailey Moorefield and his wife, "Johnnie", of Burlington; several nieces and nephews and a special friend of 33 years, Mary Bryant, of Burlington.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Moorefield was preceded in death by three sisters, Wilma Moorefield Martin, Billie Moorefield Alexander and Edith Moorefield Councilman; two brothers, C.L. "Joe" Moorefield, whose spouse Anna K. Moorefield survives and Bradsher "LB" Moorefield, whose spouse Shirley G. Moorefield also survives.
There will be a graveside service Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery located at 3572 W Greensboro Chapel Hill Rd., Liberty, NC 27298-9562.
The family will receive friends inside Mt. Zion Baptist Church for one hour prior to the service. Officiating will be the Rev. Andy Clapp.
In lieu of flowers or food, the family respectfully requests that memorials be forwarded to the Designated Building Fund of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, PO Box 280 Alamance, NC.
