BURLINGTON - Mr. Carl W. Jester, 83, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at 9:14 p.m.
A native of Surry County, he was the husband of Colene Frye Jester, who survives, and the son of John Wesley Jester and Maggie Gillespie Jester, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the 101st Airborne during the Korean Conflict. Carl was a retired textile employee and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include his son, Winston Scott Jester of Burlington; and one granddaughter.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Monday, July 30, 2012, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Ernest Beck, with the family receiving friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Alamance Memorial Park. Other times the family will be at the residence.
