MEBANE - Mrs. Caro Baldwin Nickerson Foust, 65, of 206 North St., died March 25, 2013 at UNC Hospital.
She was the wife of Mr. Robert Foust of the home and daughter of Mr. George Washington Baldwin and Ms. Macie Harris Baldwin, both deceased.
She was a member of Johnson's Chapel AME Church where she loved being on the kitchen committee, usher board and church greeter. She loved to shop, travel on road trips, going to church, her church family, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her sisters and her four grandchildren. In her earlier days she loved to bake cakes for people and she was known for her stewed corn.
She was married to William Nickerson for 24 years and from this union there are two daughters, Karen Nickerson Parrish (Markal) of Saxapahaw and Shanika Antonio Nickerson of the home. She is also survived by three brothers, Joseph Harris (Betty) of Chapel Hill, Paul Baldwin and George W. Baldwin Jr., both of Burlington; five sisters, a twin sister, Sarah Alston of Burlington, Della Nickerson, Stella Clegg, Jean Baldwin and Lillian Trollinger (Dennis), all of Haw River; four grandchildren, Marcus Parrish, Brittany Parrish, Whitney Parrish and Matthew Nickerson; three aunts, Lenoris Baldwin, Mary Harris and Katie Fearrington, all of Chapel Hill; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Harris.
Public viewing will be Friday, March 29, 2013 from 1 to 8 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel of Blackwell Funeral Home in Burlington and at other times the family will receive friends at the residence of Markal and Karen Parrish, 5254 Salem Church Road, Graham, N.C.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30 at Johnson's Chapel AME Church with the Rev. Larry McDonald Sr. delivering the eulogy and the Rev. Dr. Dorothy Nordt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with the family arriving at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Farr-Marr Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Blackwell Funeral Home, Burlington.
