ELON - Mrs. Carrie Ann Best Peterson, 81, of 114 Georgetown Drive, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at Liberty Commons.
She was the daughter of Raymond Best Sr. and Mollissie ""Lissie"" Baker Best, both deceased and the wife of John Allen Peterson Sr. also deceased. She was also preceded in death by a son, Donnie Wayne Best; two brothers, Raymond Best Jr. and Connie Best, and two sisters, Emma Best and Betty Rose Best.
Survivors include a son; John A. Peterson Jr. (Shannon) of Elon; a daughter, Mollissie ""Mo"" Peterson (Bob) of Burlington; three brothers, Otis Best Sr., Larry Best (Herlene) and Linwood Best (Janice); eight grandchildren, Donessa Darden, Michael Bingham, Adrian Bingham, Shantell Bingham, Johnna Bingham, Zachary Farrington, John Peterson, III, and Bobbi Faith Foster and a host of other relatives and friends.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Thompson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 2393 North Beston Road, LaGrange, NC. Burial will follow in Old Mill Cemetery.
Immediately following interment the family will receive friends at 302 Cone St., Goldsboro, NC.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Alamance Funeral Service from 6-7:30 p.m. Public viewing will be held Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Alamance Funeral Service, Burlington, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Alamance County in memory of Carrie Peterson.
