GRAHAM - Mr. Caswell McCoy Owens, 41, of Graham, N.C., departed this life on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at 8:34 a.m. at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Owens attended Oak Ridge Military Academy in Oak Ridge, N.C., Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, Florida, and is a graduate of Americana Preparatory School in Deerfield Beach, Florida. He was an English Language teacher in Tokyo, Japan and a purchasing agent in Alabama and Kentucky for many years.
Mr. Owens is the brother of John Robert "Robbie" Owens and wife Penny, of Mebane.
In addition to his brother and sister-in-law, he is survived by his mother, Sandra Zachary, of Graham; and his father John Robert Owens Jr. and stepmother Reta Whittenton Owens of Madison, Alabama; stepsister, Bobbie Ann Leitstein and husband Scott of Madison, Alabama. Coy leaves behind his beloved son, Kent McCoy Owens, a freshman at Auburn University; and his former wife, Naomi Sato Owens, of Madison, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss their "Uncle Toy."
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lyman McCoy Bass and Martha Minges Bass; and paternal grandparents, John Robert Owens and Ethel Edwards Owens, all of the Farmville N.C. area.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane. Officiating will be Minister John Robert "Robbie" Owens, brother of the deceased. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of the brother, Robbie and Penny Owens, 202 West Carr Street, Mebane, N.C. 27302.
