BURLINGTON - Mr. Charles Lewis Fortune Sr., 73, of 3107 Commerce Place, Apt. B, died Oct. 28, 2012 at his home.

He was the husband of the late Mrs. Celestine Fortune and the son of Mr. Bernard Fortune and Mrs. Alease Johnson Fortune, both deceased. He was a truck driver for Mannion Steel.
Survivors include his children, Charles Lewis Fortune Jr. of California, Craig Edwin Fortune of Fayetteville, N.C., Vanessa Marie Frisby (John) of Yeadon, Pa., Pamela Leah Veney (Richard) of Philadelphia, Pa., Mary Ann Polche (Dickens) of Wynnewood, Pa., Pauline Simmons of Philadelphia and James Simmons of Reidsville, N.C.; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Marie Jenkins and Lorraine Newby of Burlington and Yolanda Simmons of Elon, N.C.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 from 2 to 8 p.m. in the Mary Adelaide Chapel at Blackwell Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 3 when the body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Family visitation will be at 2 p.m.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel of Blackwell Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
