GRAHAM - Mr. Charlie Frank Hudson Jr., age 79, of 1303 St. Regis Drive, Burlington, died at noon Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at his residence after a lengthy illness, peacefully surrounded by family and friends.

Mr. Hudson was a member of the True Life Baptist Church and often visited Emmanuel United Methodist Church. He was retired from The United States Air Force, and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Hudson was born in Surry County. Mr. Hudson was also a lover of pets and had many throughout his life with a special relationship with one named "Baby."
Survivors include his wife Kathleen Hunley Foster Hudson, of the home; daughters, Patricia Hotaling and husband Stephen, of Gloucester, Va., and Teresa Briley and husband Michael, of Hamilton, Va. Also, of four grandchildren Stephanie Thorne, Kyle Hotaling, Jacob Briley, Erin Briley and one great-grandchild, Arabella Thorne.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Jane Hudson; parents, Charlie Frank Hudson Sr. and Greta Vestal Hudson; and brothers, Alvis "Buck" Hudson and Alvin "Wink" Hudson.
The visitation will be held at the McClure Funeral home in Graham on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, from 1:30 p.m. until service time and other times at the residence.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel, located at 1030 S. Main St., Graham, NC 27302. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, in Hampton Memorial Gardens, located in Hampton, Va., with full military honors.
Officiating the service will be the Revs. Tommy Marley and Neil Slater.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, NC 27215.
