BURLINGTON - Mrs. Cleola P. Blackwell, 75, of 1987 Hilton Road, died Dec. 26, 2012 at Kindred Hospital, Greensboro.

She was retired from both Kayser-Roth and Chick-Fil-A. Mrs. Blackwell was a member of High Rock Baptist Church and loved bingo, watching the news and meeting people.
She is survived by son, Malcolm Poteat (Sandra) of Graham; daughters, Doris Blackwell of the home and Carmen Blackwell Hodnett (Charles) of Gibsonville; brothers, Howard Poteat of Burlington and Joe Lewis Poteat (Evelyn) of Clinton, N.C.; sisters, Willie Mae Howard of New York, Mahalie Fox of Hyattsville, Md. and Sallie Poteat King of Glendale, Md.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The public viewing will be Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 from 1 until 8 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel of Blackwell Funeral Home, Burlington. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. in the chapel and at other times at 7082 Blue Spring St., Gibsonville.
The funeral will be conducted Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. at High Rock Baptist Church in Blanch, with the Rev. Henry Long delivering the eulogy. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service with family visitation from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
