BURLINGTON - David Geddis, 90, of Burlington, died April 23, 2013, at the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell.

Born Jan. 25, 1923, in North Westminster, Vermont, he was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. He was a graduate of Oklahoma University in Norman, Okla., with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He and his family have been residents of Burlington since 1953. He retired after more than 30 years with Bell Labs/AT&T/Western Electric at the Guilford Center and Burlington plants.
Survivors include his daughter, Sharon Geddis and husband Stephen Pollak; and two sons, Ted Geddis and wife Beth, and Eric Geddis.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Tramel Geddis; his parents, Ralph Kenneth Geddis and Elizabeth Cook Geddis; four brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday, April 26. The funeral will be at 2 p.m., immediately following the visitation, at McClure Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Terry Rickard of Mebane Street Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial donations to the Mebane Street Church of Christ.
