David Glenn Shoffner, age 66, of Supply, N.C., formerly of Burlington, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the SECU Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, Bolivia, N.C.

He was born on Dec. 30, 1946, the son of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth White Shoffner of Graham, N.C. and the late Harvey Shoffner.
David was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was Superintendent of Division of Prisons in Graham, N.C. with the North Carolina Department of Corrections for 30 years until his retirement. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife of 41 years, Amy Catherine Shoffner of the home; three children, David Brian Shoffner and wife, Jaclyn of Burlington, N.C., Doree Kimrey and husband, Brian "BT" of Mebane, N.C. and Cathy Simmons and husband, Keith also of Burlington, N.C.; two brothers, John Shoffner of Reidsville, N.C. and Steve Shoffner and wife, Cherri of Graham, N.C.; and 10 grandchildren.
In honor of Mr. Shoffner the family will have a family gathering on Sunday, May 19, 2013, from 2 to 5 p.m. at his mother's residence, 412 Shoffner St., Graham, N.C.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the SECU Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 28422.
