ELON, N.C. - Mr. Denzel Hall Hedrick, 76, of 161 Gwynn Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at 1:01 a.m. at Annie Penn Hospital, Reidsville, N.C.

Mr. Hedrick was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Alamance-Burlington School System with 18 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Cheek Hedrick, of the home; daughters, Marilyn Brown of Maryland, Sharron Fischer of Greensboro, Vivian White and Sue Hedrick, both of Graham; stepdaughters, Cindy Durham of Chapel Hill and Melissa Ehinger of Graham; sons, Glenn Hedrick of Graham and Garnett Hedrick of Reidsville; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen McCauley of West Virginia; brothers, John Hedrick of Kentucky, Junior Collett of Ohio and Earl Hedrick of West Virginia; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Hedrick and Lillie Collett Hedrick Nasalrod; wife, Ruby Proctor Hedrick; sisters, Lottie Yerkey and Patty Curry; and brother, William Hedrick.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 in the Camp Springs United Methodist Church cemetery, Reidsville, N.C. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m., prior to the service, at McClure Funeral Home in Graham. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence.
