BURLINGTON - Dixie Amelia Robertson, 80, formerly of Bellemont Alamance Road, Burlington died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at 3:30 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of David E. Robertson and Goldie Kinney Robertson, both deceased. She retired from Bahnson Mechanical Services. Dixie was one of the first female aviators in Alamance County. She enjoyed painting and woodworking and was a member of The Alamance County Genealogical Society. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three nieces, Pat Brown and husband Bill of Snow Camp, Deborah Michael and husband Tony of Ossipee and Leesa Ross and husband Phil of Burlington; a nephew, Larry Robertson Jr. of Burlington; and six great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, John E. Robertson, Joseph Frank Robertson and Larry E. Robertson and one sister, Rebecca Catherine Robertson.
The funeral service will be conducted at Friendship United Methodist Church on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at noon by the Rev. Henry Swanzey with the family receiving friends from 11 a.m. to noon prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
